Bolt your rooftop tent directly to the Skinny Jim Strong Boy Roof Bars (2 or 3 bar kit) with this simple attachment kit. There are a few benefits to this style of attachment.
Dispenses of the RTT manufacturer’s wrap-around clamps which can sometimes have clearance issues with the Jimny roof, especially when combined with our low profile roof bars.
Super clean and secure attachment, with no risk of clamps shifting, especially off-road where dynamic forces and vibrations are higher.
Theft deterrent. The attachment/detachment nuts are out of sight and hard to reach, especially without the provided L-shaped spanner.
The kit includes 60mm M8 washers custom sized to the underside of the Strong Boy Roof Bars, stainless steel flange nuts, and a L-shaped spanner to tighten from beneath the bar.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Dispense of the ‘U’ shape wrap-around clamps provided with your rooftop tent.
Use the M8 channel bolts typically provided with the rooftop tent, sliding them in the rooftop tent channel mounts. We have included M8 neoprene washers to fit between RTT channel mounts and Skinny Jim roof bars – these protect scuffing and help to tension.
Lift the rooftop tent onto the bars, passing the bolts through the open t-slot of the Strong Boy Load Bars.
Then use M8 washer and M8 flange nut to tighten from beneath the bar – hand-tightening first then using the provided L-shaped spanner to finish. Place a soft cloth between the roof and tool to prevent any scratching as you tighten.
