Bar length: 1350mm
Bar width: 60mm
Bar height: 40mm (not including gutter-mounted clamps)
Clearance to roof: 20-35mm depending on area of roof.
Total weight of 2 bars: 5.7kg -
Static load rated to 200kg for the 2 bar set.
In terms of the dynamic load rating, we don’t recommend exceeding Suzuki’s stated 30kg total roof load limit for the Jimny.
For added confidence, our roof racks are engineered with a substantial safety margin beyond this 30kg figure, and tested thoroughly off-road.
They are engineered to meet the International Roof Rack Standards ISO 11154. -
Marine-grade aluminium construction, stainless steel fixings.
Premium textured powder-coat finish. Scuff-resistant, UV-resistant, salt- resistant – for New Zealand’s harsh conditions.
Built to last, not to rust. -
Our standard spacing is 970mm centre-to-centre. We include a custom ‘Measuring Stick’ in the box that lines you up for this.
970mm is also the required spacing to attach the Inbetweener or Mighty Smart Platform in the future.
You can position the bars closer or further apart to suit your use case, just note the maximum recommended forward position for the front bar, which is 560mm from the door gap to centre of the bar. Shifting the front bar beyond this can create wind resonance. -
The Strong Boy Bars are the base for both our Inbetweener Platform and the Mighty Smart Roof Platform.
You can purchase an Inbetweener with the bars, or at a later date.
If you purchase the Mighty Smart Rack, the bars are included. You can also purchase the bars first, and the Bars to Mighty Rack Expansion Kit at a later date. -

Our awning brackets are designed to give you a fast, simple and secure fit to our bars, and are practically universal.
For traditional pull-out side awnings, use our Quick Release Side Awning Brackets. For 270°/Freestanding awnings with conventional attachment (ie. 2 or 3 bolt channels at back of awning) use our purpose built 270° awning brackets.
The awning manufacturer’s provided brackets can also work fine but, depending on the hole spacing of the brackets, drilling may be required. -
With a static load rating of 200kg, the bars are built to support the weight of a roof top tent without any issues.
However it is worth Suzuki’s stated 30kg dynamic roof load rating for the Jimny. Most rooftop tents will put you comfortably over this limit, and we can’t recommend you exceed it.
If you do decide a rooftop tent is the right option for you, you have two methods to attach to our bars.Use the manufacturer-supplied clamps. Be sure to check the manufacturer’s maximum bar width and height first, and required roof clearance.
If the clamps don’t fit around the bars, or you prefer a more secure attachment method – use our RTT Direct Attachment Kit.
Another thing to consider is our Strong Boy 3 Bar Roof Rack, which prevents any flexing in the rooftop tent (particularly common in lightweight tents) and provides a more solid feel. This will also be essential if your static load (roof tent + occupants) exceeds 200kg.

One option is our Magic Mount, which is designed to attach Maxtrax lengthways along the bar or between two bars (with a narrower spacing).
Note these are designed for Maxtrax, but may work with other recovery tracks that share the same hole spacing and locking pin design.
The Inbetweener can also mount Maxtrax (Lite and Mini lengths) using the same mounting pin method, while giving you loads more utility.
17mm Maxtrax Mounting Pins are required for both methods. -
